“Location is the most important thing here.”

We decided that a weekend at the hotel Del Coronado was what we wanted, but not what we wanted to pay for. We chose the Glorietta Bay Inn because it is right across the street from the ‘Del’ and cost about half. Not that there’s anything wrong with this hotel.. It is part historic mansion and part modern hotel, is spotlessly clean and the staff is very attentive and accommodating. The continental breakfast is perfect for getting you fed and out the door to the beach, but if you’re looking for a full breakfast, downtown Coronado (and ifs restaurants) is a short walk down the block.. We can’t wait to return!

“Exceeded our expectations”

We selected the Glorietta Bay Inn based on the positive reviews of other travelers. We stayed in the Mansion in the Steckels suite and were very impressed with the room, the balcony, the view and the service. We have been fortunate enough to travel extensively and stay in some beautiful places. The Glorietta Bay Inn ranks high on our list of outstanding accommodations. I would recommend it to anyone and would be happy staying there again

I really don’t understand people being disappointed with the breakfast or the view or the price. everything is very forthcoming and we knew exactly what we were getting. It actually exceeded our expectations. It was very busy, but being Easter weekend that is to be expected. the service was perfect. the room was exactly what was advertised and they gave us a great view of the bay, which we asked for. the breakfast was more than satisfying and they have water, coffee, lemonade, fruit, and cookies throughout the day. We drink Cafe Moto at home, so we were so glad to find it here also. They had a bike shed so we could use and store our bikes at our leisure, they had ample parking and only charged us $10 for our whole stay, instead of per day. the pool and spa are small, and this was worsened by all the families here this week. Again, to be expected in a fully booked hotel. I will say that the pool closes at 10 and we were wanting to go in the spa at 10:30 (we were without our kids this trip) and I was bummed it closed so “early.” we would stay here again in a heartbeat, especially with the Internet special we booked. the normal prices are a tad high I think. As far as people complaining about the noise, you do hear the other guests, but not after 10 and not before 8am. I wear earplugs so it doesn’t bother me. w We couldn’t hear the people above or to the side of us, only those out in the hallway. The cable tv was basic, the free WiFi was excellent, and the staff very helpful and friendly. I would choose this over the Del any day! have realistic expectations, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised :)

“Good value”

I decided to stay here while my daughter was interviewing for graduate school in the area. We only had a one night stay and it was brief so I could not justify the incredible expense of staying at the Hotel Del Coronado. This hotel was perfect. There is a $10 parking fee which the front desk told me as soon as I checked in. Staying on Coronado is far from the hustle and bustle of San Diego but it is quite lovely. We had drinks at the Hotel Del Coronado ($20 for a beer and a mixed drink) and watched the sunset over the ocean. Our room was on the ground floor and was a bit dark for my tastes but we did not ask for a change. The bathroom was older but very clean and everything worked perfectly. I could tell it was well maintained. The room overlooked the pool and I thought it would be noisy but it was very quiet and well insulated. The breakfast is fairly standard hotel buffet food and the patio area is lovely in the morning. All in all the staff was professional
